MDC launches Student Debt Outreach Platform in June. 

What is the Student Debt Outreach Platform? It is a living resource page where student debt borrowers can receive timely outreach materials related to student debt. Through the resource page, individuals and organizations can also track the success and reach of the outreach materials that you use.

Educational Equity

LENS-NC Community Showcase 

Join us on June 28th for a Community Showcase where our LENS-NC network will share their visions for supporting marginalized students with learning differences.

The LENS-NC network is a collective of 20 organizations working at the intersection of education equity and learning differences to advance work to reduce disparities in educational outcomes among students with diagnosed and undiagnosed learning differences. Their aim is to create learning environments where students thrive!

Medicaid Expansion Op-ed featured in Post and Courier 

Check out MDC's recent commentary on Medicaid expansion in South Carolina's Post and CourierMedicaid expansion is a win for North Carolina. It can be for South Carolina, too.

On Dec. 1, 2023, when the gates opened for Medicaid expansion in North Carolina, people of all kinds were standing outside, waiting to enter a long-awaited future. They were people in the coverage gap — not quite low-income enough to qualify for Medicaid, but not high-income enough to qualify for a private-market health insurance subsidy. They were service workers and health care workers, educators and artists.
